Charitable Organization Will Also Match Individual BP Employee Donations

In response to Typhoon Haiyan, the BP Foundation is donating $200,000 to the Philippine Red Cross to provide assistance and aid to victims and their families during the ongoing recovery effort.

The contribution will assist with the purchase of emergency food, clean water, medicine, sanitation supplies and shelter.

In addition, the BP Foundation is matching employee donations to Typhoon Haiyan relief. BP employees are being encouraged to make their contributions through Red Cross offices in the countries where they work.

In 2011, the BP Foundation also provided aid to the survivors of Tropical Storm Washi/Sendong and to the victims of Typhoon Bopha in 2012. Both storms struck the southern regions of the Philippines.

The BP Foundation is a separate legal entity from BP and accounts independently for its operations, assets, liabilities and expenses. Since 2006, it has donated approximately $276 million to charitable organizations around the world.
