In this new series of short films, Spencer Dale, group chief economist, works with professional illustrators to visualise the key issues facing the world of energy today and in the future. The first of the series (shown above) summarises some of the key issues from this year's BP Energy Outlook.
The Energy Outlook explores the forces shaping the global energy transition out to 2040 and the key uncertainties surrounding that transition. It shows how rising prosperity drives an increase in global energy demand and how that demand will be met over the coming decades through a diverse range of supplies including oil, gas, coal and renewables.
On Thursday 14 February at 2.30pm GMT, Bob Dudley, group chief executive, and Spencer Dale will discuss the key findings from this year’s Energy Outlook and what this means for energy markets out to 2040.
On Tuesday 19 February at 8am GMT, Spencer Dale will host a live Q&A, preceded by a streamed recording of the 2019 launch presentation.
