bp PETRONAS Acetyls (BPPA)

 

 

bp Petronas Acetyls Sdn Bhd (BPPA), a manufacturer of acetic acid is a non-operated joint venture between BP and national petroleum company PETRONAS located in Kerteh, Terengganu on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia
 

The BPPA plant in Kerteh, Terengganu is designed and operated to meet bp’s stringent standards of safety.

 

Fully operational as at end 2000, the BPPA plant has a production capacity of approximately 500,000 tonnes of acetic acid per year for distribution within Malaysia and export within South East Asia and also North and South Asia.

 

Acetic acid is a key raw material for the production of a wide number of products used by consumers, including washing powder, drink bottles and food packaging.

 

BPPA’s commitment towards safety has seen recognition in numerous occupational safety & health awards over the years from the Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety & Health (MSOSH) and the National Council for Occupational Safety & Health.
