BP partakes in International Environmental Exhibition

BP has participated in the 7th Azerbaijan International Environmental Exhibition Caspian Ecology.

The Exhibition opened in Baku Expo Centre on 16 November and lasted for three days. This significant event for ecology and environmental protection in the Caspian and Caucasus regions was supported by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources. It brought together 62 companies from 14 countries, including Azerbaijan, Great Britain, Germany, Denmark, and Czech Republic.

Caspian Ecology exhibition demonstrates developments in a number of fields, such as efficient use of natural resources; systems for the collection and disposal of solid waste, for sewage and rainwater treatment; micro-tunnelling, measuring and control technologies for water analysis; attracting people's attention to the environmental issues and their resolution.

Mr. Huseyngulu Bagirov, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan has visited the BP stand and learned about the latest technologies applied by BP to reduce the impact of its operations in the Caspian Sea and minimize environmental impact of the long-term oil and gas development in Azerbaijan.

During the three day exhibition BP’s environmental team representatives shared company’s up-to-date achievements in the Environmental Management System of its operations; use of environmentally friendly technologies for cleaning the water and soil; management of toxic waste; and Greenhouse Gas Emissions.
