BP has introduced a new scholarship programme for Year 12 and 13 students planning to begin tertiary education the following year in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
The BP Innovation Scholarship programme has been created in celebration of the 25-year partnership between BP and Young Enterprise. The annual scholarship programme will see five students who have participated in a Young Enterprise-led programme awarded $1,000 each to go towards study-related costs for their first year of tertiary education in 2019.
The purpose of the scheme is to give back and inspire and support New Zealand’s future innovative leaders to make the most of the opportunities before them.
BP is proud to have partnered with Young Enterprise for 25 years, and wholly supports their purpose to foster leadership, develop entrepreneurial skills, and build innovative minds for the future. BP’s hope is that the BP Innovation Scholarship programme will encourage and enable students with a passion for innovation to go after their dreams and big ideas.
Applications for this year’s scholarship open on 21 September and close on 16 November, 2018. Any Year 12 or 13 student who has participated in a BP Business Challenge or Young Enterprise programme may apply.
BP is looking for New Zealand students who are passionate about being an ambassador for change and innovation. Applicants must be a New Zealand citizen, and be going on to study science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) subjects next year. Applicants will be assessed on their demonstration of drive and passion to innovate.
