We were delighted to be the official fuel supplier for the world’s longest nonstop flight between Newark International Airport (EWR/ KEWR) and Singapore Changi Airport (SIN/ WSSS) on 12 October.
Jet A was uplifted to the Singapore Airlines’ Airbus A350-900ULR via Newark’s fuel system from our storage facilities in New Jersey. The flight covered a distance of around 16,700km with a travel time of approximately 18 hours and 45 minutes.
Commenting on this record-breaking achievement, Joe McGregor, Air BP’s North America supply director said: “We are proud to play our part in fuelling the world’s new longest nonstop flight and are delighted to be supporting Singapore Airlines as they expand their presence in the US.”
Our involvement in this exciting new chapter of long-haul travel also underpins our ongoing investment in our US operations where we are continuing to innovate and expand our network.
