‘Tomorrow’s Future Today’ with BBGA
Many thanks to the British Business and General Aviation Association (BBGA) for an insightful day at its 2018 annual conference on 8 March. It was our second year sponsoring the event and, as members of the association, we are glad to have done so.
A particular highlight was the presentation from Bruce Parry from the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) on IATA's Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA).
He reminded the industry that operators with over 10,000 tonnes of annual CO2 emissions or more than a 5,700kg maximum take-off weight will have to offset the growth in their carbon emissions in international flying on an annual basis from a 2020 baseline.
We are experts in carbon offsetting – our carbon offset programme with BP Target Neutral is now in its 12th year – so if you require any advice, please do get in touch!
Dr Sarah Flaherty had the audience fully engaged with her talk on how mindfulness can improve business performance.
The Red Bull Air Race World Championship lands in Cannes!
The next stop of the Red Bull Air Race World Championship in Cannes is a special one. Why? It marks the first time the pilots will touch down for a race in France.
It is going to be particularly memorable for the five French pilots in the sport – Mika Brageot, Nicolas Ivanoff and François Le Vot competing for the World Championship; and Mélanie Astles and Baptiste Vignes racing for a win in the Challenger Cup – will one of them take a win in their home country? Find out on April 20 – 22. You watch all the action from the race weekend live here.
The best thing about it for you? The official Race Airport is located at Cannes-Mandelieu Airport (CEQ/LFMD), one of our Sterling Card locations! Offering both Jet A-1 and Avgas, the airport is open from 07:00 until dusk.

Say hello at upcoming shows
April is a busy month for us, as we are exhibiting at two big international shows.
The first is the Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (ABACE) in Shanghai, China, between 17-19 April 2018. We will be exhibiting at Stand H2214.
The second is Aero Friedrichshafen from 18-21 April 2018 in Germany, where we will be in hall A5 on stand number 305. Visitors will have the chance to meet our Central Europe team (pictured) and find out where else we are planning to launch UL91 in the region – if you remember, in last month’s newsletter we announced UL91 will soon be coming to Münster-Osnabrück Airport in Germany.
Like last year, we will have the RocketRoute team on our stand, so delegates can learn more about RocketRoute FlightPlanning and MarketPlace.
If you are attending either show, do come along and see us.
